Word 2010-Desktop Publishing

About the Class:

This workshop lasts 3 hours.

Though Word is not a robust desktop publishing application, it does have some advanced layout features which can be used to create simple newsletters and brochures. This workshop is intended for participants who are already familiar with Word and want to learn its advanced layout features. Participants will learn how to use templates and styles in creating more polished documents, and how to incorporate graphics, charts, and an automated table of contents into a multi-column document.

What You’ll Learn:

  • Create and use document templates
  • Create and edit styles
  • Design a document layout
  • Create a table of contents
  • Customize headers and footers
  • Format sections, columns and text boxes
  • Insert and modify graphics and charts

What You Need to Know:

  • Launch Windows and Word
  • Navigate through a document
  • Use toolbars and pop-up menus
  • Highlight, edit, and format text and paragraphs
  • Change margins and tab settings
  • Save and print your document
