The Classified Employee Handbook includes the Commonwealth of Virginia Employee Handbook and University of Mary Washington Addendum.
New Administrative and Professional Faculty hired on or after July 1, 2010 who have no prior service credit with the Virginia Retirement System (VRS) or Optional Retirement Plan (ORP) will be required to contribute five percent (5%) of their compensation to the retirement plan. The University will pay the administrative costs associated with the management of the VRS or ORP account. An explanation of Retirement Benefits are described on page 22 of the Administrative and Professional Faculty Handbook.
