If you are considering access to Banner Finance, you may be a departmental buyer responsible for procurement and budgetary tasks; or you may be a supervisor interested in managing departmental operational budgets. Whichever your need, training is offered to support your departmental functions, and is a requirement for system access.
Finance operations involve differing systems. If you are a buyer, you will be taking classes that focus on eVA (the states’ online ordering system), the Knowledge Center (online state training for credit card use), WORKS (used for credit card statements) and Banner Finance (for budget reports and views, check requests, and purchase order receiving functions).
Additionally, Banner Finance will involve a focus on both Internet Native Banner (INB) and Self Service Banner (SSB) functions. See the left side panel for an introduction into these two Banner selections. eVA and credit card information can be viewed from the Procurement Services website.
Training and Security form Requirements
Training is required before access to Banner or eVA is permitted. Information found within the Finance Class Descriptions, managed by the Training, Evaluation and System Support unit can help you decide upon classes that best meet your need. Start first with the Fundamentals of Finance which is designed to walk you through the Security form needs and explanation of training classes.
