{"id":120332,"date":"2015-07-17T16:40:21","date_gmt":"2015-07-17T20:40:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/adminfinance.umw.edu\/hr\/?page_id=120332"},"modified":"2016-07-25T17:09:13","modified_gmt":"2016-07-25T21:09:13","slug":"classified-positions","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/adminfinance.umw.edu\/hr\/compensation\/classified-positions\/","title":{"rendered":"Classified Positions"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Classified employees are assigned to positions within the occupational families listed in the Commonwealth&#8217;s Compensation Plan.\u00a0 These employees are covered by the provisions of the Virginia Personnel Act (Title 2.2, \u00a7 2.2 -2900 of the Code of Virginia), once they have completed the probationary period.<\/p>\n<p>The pay system for a classified position is based upon the position&#8217;s role title and the state&#8217;s classification system.\u00a0 The position&#8217;s role title is based upon complexity, results and accountability stated in classified employee&#8217;s official Employee Work Plan (EWP).\u00a0 Classified employees may view their job description via <a href=\"https:\/\/careers.umw.edu\/hr\">Careers<\/a>, the system that UMW uses for Position Management and Applicant Tracking.<\/p>\n<p>Each year, supervisors and classified employees will review position descriptions and certify that they are accurate.\u00a0 If a job has been changed significantly for an extended period of time, the employee and supervisor should discuss these changes.\u00a0 If appropriate, the supervisor will submit a revised position description to Human Resources (via <a href=\"https:\/\/careers.umw.edu\/hr\">Careers<\/a>) for review.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Classified employees are assigned to positions within the occupational families listed in the Commonwealth&#8217;s Compensation Plan.\u00a0 These employees are covered by the provisions of the Virginia Personnel Act (Title 2.2, \u00a7 2.2 -2900 of the Code of Virginia), once they have completed the probationary period.
