Student Information

Mail boxes

  • Each undergraduate degree seeking student at the University, including all residence halls, apartments and commuting students, both full and part-time, will receive a mailbox. BLS students DO NOT receive a mailbox.
  • Eagle Landing residents will receive a mailbox assignment in Eagle Landing.
  • ALL students share mailboxes and are encouraged to check mail frequently. Mail that is left in a mailbox for more than 30 days is considered unclaimed and will be returned to sender.
  • A student’s mailbox will remain the same as long as s/he resides on campus. If residential status changes, then a new mailbox will be issued.
  • A student that moves out of Eagle Landing back onto campus or as a commuter will be assigned a new mailbox on campus.
  • The mailbox number and combination can be retrieved on Banner under the Personal Information tab.
  • Mail is NOT delivered on Saturday or Sunday.

  • All other deliveries made by the U.S. Postal Service, UPS, Federal Express. DHL and their courier services are received at the University Post Office, not at the residence halls.
  • The student address on packages must include the box number.
  • When a package arrives that is too large to fit in the box or requires a signature, s/he will receive an email notification. A photo ID is required to pick up the package during window service hours.

Forwarding

Due to changes in USPS regulations the UMW PO is no longer able to forward mail. The only option for the UMW PO is to return your mail to sender. When you move off campus please let your correspondents know of your change of address and insure you are using your current address when ordering items.
