Solutions, Planning and Support
UMW Facilities Services is charged with the stewardship responsibilities for maintenance and operations of the real property assets of the University of Mary Washington. This encompasses not only the main campus in Fredericksburg, but also satellite locations in Stafford and Dahlgren, the James Monroe Museum and the Gari Melchers Home and Studio.
Cost-effective solutions, foresight in planning, customer-focused support and sustainable approaches are the objectives of our facilities programs. Our primary service areas include: building maintenance and repair, capital outlay management, state vehicle transportation services, housekeeping, landscape and grounds care, recycling and waste management, central heating plant operations, minor construction and alterations, engineering services and facility support contracts.
Our mechanical tradespeople, custodial services and landscape and grounds crews maintain the UMW main campus (including all academic, residential and administrative buildings and green spaces) to the highest standards through their hard work and dedication.
