New Student Orientation

Welcome, new students! Business Services oversees several non-academic units that support student life. These include the Bookstore, Copy Center, EagleOne Card Center, Parking Management, and Post Office. UMW Book Club

The UMW Book Club will meet on Wednesday, April 19, from noon to 1 p.m. in Lee Hall, room 414. The book to be discussed is A Long Way Home by Saroo Brierley, the story of a five-year old Indian boy who becomes lost from his small village family and ends up on the streets of Calcutta. Textbook Adoption Deadlines

On time adoptions mean more used books available for students AND more money in students’ pockets through buyback. Please submit textbook/course material adoptions to the UMW Bookstore by the due dates so that the store can maximize payment to students for books they wish to sell. There is a $1,500* Pepsi Textbook Scholarship fund for students, offered to the first department to reach 100% on-time adoption rate. *In the event of a tie, funds will be divided. James Gaines Book Signing

James Gaines, author and professor emeritus of French, will sign copies of his recently published science fiction book, Life Sentence, from 3 to 5 p.m. on Tuesday, March 14. The event, sponsored by the Department of Modern Languages and Literatures, will take place in the University Bookstore, 306 Lee Hall.
