National Retirement Security Month

OCTOBER IS NATIONAL RETIREMENT SECURITY MONTH.

As we navigate through our “new normal” with virtual events, Virginia Retirement System wants to make sure that employees stay informed about their retirement benefits.

VRS Plan 1, Plan 2 or Hybrid

For our VRS Participants, our area’s dedicated Outreach Counselor has initiated “Webinar Wednesdays” – a chance for VRS participants to engage in a live VRS webinar and ask questions at the end of the presentation.  A list of upcoming webinars is available.

VRS Members Annual Member Benefit Profile Statement

The 2020 Member Benefit Profiles are available to Plan 1, Plan 2 and Hybrid Retirement Plan members in their myVRS accounts.  This year, MBPs sport a fresh design to streamline access to key information about a member’s account and projected VRS benefit. The MBP is an annual benefit statement based on information employers report to VRS as of June 30. It provides account balance information, retirement eligibility and eligibility for other benefits, such as group life insurance and the health insurance credit.

ICMA-RC

Virtual appointments are also available for our ORPHE – DCP Participants (ORP members that elected DCP as their provider), Hybrid Participants (hired or elected VRS on or after 01/2014) and/or 457 Deferred Compensation Participants.   Our scheduled days for UMW are October 21st, November 5th, and December 8th.  However, you can set up appointments at any time but these days are designated for UMW only.  ICMA-RC is also hosting numerous Education Seminars.
