The Department of Labor (DOL) released the final rule increasing the salary threshold for federal overtime pay requirements under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) from $23,660 to $47,476. Effective November 25, 2016, UMW employees making less than $47,476 will be Non-Exempt and paid overtime for hours worked beyond 40 in a work week. A new 80 hour work period goes into effect on November 28th for all Exempt employees.
