Freshman Parking Exception Request

In accordance with University of Mary Washington’s Parking Regulations, freshman residential students are restricted from obtaining a parking permit on campus.

A limited number of exceptions will be considered for freshman students who live long distance (over 300 miles from campus). If space allows, other reasons for requesting an exception may be taken into consideration (view program details here: Freshman Long Distance Parking Procedures).

Applicants must be enrolled Freshmen.
Applicants granted an exception will only park on Level 5 of the Eagle Landing deck.
Do not submit sensitive information through this form.
Students should contact ODR when requesting an accomodation.
The cost for the decal is $375.
Submission of an application does not guarantee an exception to park on campus. Applicants should not bring a vehicle to campus unless they have been granted an exception and have purchased a permit.
Application deadline is August 1 for the 2026-27 academic year.
Notification of approval for a permit will be sent to the student’s UMW email address no later than August 12, 2026.

I understand that I am requesting an exception to have a vehicle on campus. If granted an exception, I understand and agree that if my status changes, I must immediately notify Parking Management return the permit (applicable refunds will be processed) and remove my vehicle from the campus. Failure to follow the established policies and procedure may result in my vehicle being cited and/or towed, my parking privileges being revoked and referral to Judicial Affairs.
