List of Designated Signers

Below is a list of individuals that President Troy D. Paino has authorized to sign certain Administration and Finance forms, such as the Business Meal Form, for their respective administrative areas.  This identified designee may sign forms where the signature of the “President or designee” is required.

Dr. Troy D. Paino, as President (Agency Head) of University of Mary Washington, gives the following individuals the authority to sign for the President (Agency Head) in his absence for fields on forms that specifically require the President’s signature:

Dr. Jeffrey McClurken (PRESIDENT’S CABINET MEMBER), Chief of Staff, and

Mr. Paul Messplay (PRESIDENT’S CABINET MEMBER), Vice President for Administration and Finance and Chief Financial Officer

Dr. Troy D. Paino, President, gives the following individuals the authority to sign as a designated signer on his behalf for their respective administrative areas for fields on forms that require the signature of the President or designee:

Mr. Hall Cheshire, Chief Information Officer, to sign for Information Technologies

Mr. Paul Messplay (PRESIDENT’S CABINET MEMBER), Vice President for Administration and Finance and Chief Financial Officer, further designates authority to:

Ms. Julie Smith, Associate Vice President for Finance, to sign for Administration and Finance, and can sign any Administration and Finance Forms for the President’s Cabinet Members

Dr. Nina Mikhalevsky (PRESIDENT’S CABINET MEMBER), Provost, further designates authority to:

Dr. John Morello, Associate Provost for Academic Affairs, to sign in the absence of the Provost

Ms. Rosemary Arneson, University Librarian, to sign for the Library

Dr. Keith Mellinger, Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, to sign for the College of Arts and Science

Mr. Jerry Slezak, Director of Digital Learning Support, to sign for Digital Learning Support and the Digital Knowledge Center

Mr. Scott H. Harris, Executive Director of University Museums, to sign for the James Monroe Museum and Memorial Library and the Gari Melchers Home and Studio

Mr. Michael Hubbard, Campus Director of the UMW Dahlgren Campus Center for Education and Research, to sign for the Dahlgren Campus

Dr. Peter Kelly, Dean of the College of Education, to sign for the College of Education

Dr.Timothy O’Donnell, Associate Provost for Academic Engagement and Student Success, to sign for Registrar’s office, Quality Enhancement Plan, Disability Resources, Academic Services, Center for Career and Professional Development, Speaking Center, Writing Center, Student Transition Program, Rappahannock Scholars Program, James Farmer Scholars Program and Center for Teaching Excellence and Innovation, Honor’s Program and Community Engagement

Dr. Lynne Richardson, Dean of the College of Business, to sign for the College of Business, and further designated signing authority to:

Mr. Brian Baker, Executive Director of the Center for Economic Development, to sign for the Small Business Development Center

Dr. David Rettinger, Director of Academic Integrity Programs, to sign for Academic Integrity Programs

Ms. Kimberly Young, Executive Director of Continuing and Professional Studies, to sign for Continuing and Professional Education and Graduate Admissions

Dr. Juliette Landphair (PRESIDENT’S CABINET MEMBER), Vice President for Student Affairs, further designates signing authority to:

Mr. Dave FlemingAssistant Dean for Residence Life and Housing, to sign for students’ travel and students’ business meals that are funded by ARH and/or individual residence halls.

Ms. Melissa Jones, Assistant Dean for Student Involvement, to sign for Student Activities and Engagement, Campus Recreation and Multicultural Center, as well as students’ travel and students’ business meals that are funded by Student Activities, and further designates signing authority to:

Ms. Kelly Shannon, Director of Campus Recreation and Fitness Center, to sign for students’ travel and students’ business meals that are funded by Campus Recreation

Mr. Cedric B. Rucker, Associate Vice President of Student Affairs and Dean of Student Life, to sign for Residence Life, Talley Center for Counseling Services, Student Health Center, and Judicial Affairs

Dr. Marion Sanford, Director of Multicultural Affairs to sign for students’ travel and students’ business meals that are funded by the Multicultural Center

Mr. Michael Hall, Chief of Police, to sign for Police and Health and Safety

Mr. Patrick Catullo, Athletic Director, to sign for all of Athletics
