Holiday Calendar – The annual Holiday Calendar provides a schedule of when the University is closed for holidays.
Annual Leave – Taking time away from your job helps reset yourself mentally, emotionally and physically. We offer benefits that will help you take the time you need to rest.  Our generous leave benefits are a way to rest, spend time with family and rejuvenate.
Employee Assistance Programs – All health plans offered to state employees and their dependents have employee assistance programs (EAPs).
Service: Give Back –   Research proves that sharing your time with others for a good cause can improve your overall happiness and mental well-being.  Eligible UMW Employees are granted up to 16 hours of paid leave to provide volunteer services through eligible non-profit organizations within or outside their communities.
Premium Rewards – The Premium Rewards program promotes preventative care which is crucial to staying healthy. Participants can obtain a monthly discount on their COVA Care or COVA HealthAware health insurance plan once certain activities are met.
Flu shots are provided free of service on campus to help you stay healthy during the flu season. The University Health Center hosts a flu shot clinic one day every fall.
On-campus Lactation Room / Nursing Mother’s Room – As part of our family-friendly policies and benefits, the University of Mary Washington supports breastfeeding mothers by providing a designated lactation room.  A room on campus has been designated for this purpose.  The space is locked, private, and sanitary.  It has comfortable seating, electricity, a refrigerator, and running water, and may be used by Faculty, Staff, or students.  Individuals who wish to use the space must read and sign a User Agreement.  Additional information is available by contacting the Office of Human Resources (540-654-1214, GW Hall – 2nd floor).
Campus Dining Services – Eating on campus is convenient and only $6 a meal for employees.  A healthy eating section, Mindful Offering, offers many healthy options.

Fitness Center – Exercise is critical to good health and is possible to fit in to your busy schedule thanks to our free on campus fitness center. You can go during your lunchtime. Or go before or after work to the exercise classes, use the variety of exercise machines available or the swimming pool. You can even work with a personal trainer right on campus! You can bring a guest to workout with as long as he/she has an Eagle One card.

CommonHealth – One of the advantages of being a state employee is having access to the state’s wellness program. Employees have many opportunities to stay healthy on and off the job. The services offered through the Office of Health Benefits include fitness information, nutrition information, ideas for family’s to get healthy together and much more.
