This series of courses will introduce to some and review with others the important components of effective people management and supervisory skills. These courses will also provide information about the many policies and procedures associated with supervising employees.
Leadership UMW provides an opportunity to learn the things that effective leaders do to motivate you as an individual and team performance.
University employees must complete required training so that we are in compliance with state, federal, and university policies and laws. The information on this page provides information about training that specified employees must complete. The list of required training is not a comprehensive list; certain employees may be required to complete additional training, based upon operational needs.
New Supervisors will be invited to attend New Supervisor On-boarding. These sessions will be required for all new supervisors and will include information on a number of topics that are important to supervisors.
The UMW Learning Center (formerly known as UMW Global or the Knowledge Center) is an online system of a full range of training courses for employees and supervisors. The system has many features that you will want to take advantage of. Employees may take individual courses of their choice as well as participate in group courses offered through the University.
