New Features and Improvements for Applicants:

Key Word search within postings
Browser’s “Back” button works within system
User-friendly display for applicant to see a full list of positions they’ve applied for
Easy navigation to save applications by section and complete later
Easier process to attach documents such as resumes and transcripts

Though there are many improved applicant features that we are excited about, applications created in the first generation of Careers are not transferable from the PA 5.8 to PA 7.6. Applicants must setup a new user account within PA 7.6. We have posted a message on the system’s webpage informing applicants about this change.

New Features for Hiring Managers:

User-friendly interface with tabs and drill-down options
“Alert” section to highlight pending items
Ability to easily export report data to Excel
Statistical analysis tools available to compare applicants
Spell check for text entry fields

All –We are in the final stages of completing the upgrade for the new Careers application (Position Management and Recruitment) and want to provide you an update on our progress and information about a change to the projected timeline. Our original plan of projected internal validation testing dates has changed. Validation testing by Human Resource staff will begin the week of April 10thValidation testing by designated testers will commence on or about the week of April 21st.  While these dates have changed to ensure product and process quality, we don’t anticipate any additional impact to the timeline.Based on what we now know, we will continue to plan for Onsite Training for Supervisors, Hiring Managers and Chairs to begin during the week of May 20th and for system go-live on May 27th,as previously announced.  Our primary goal is to ensure that the system is fully ready to deliver.

The attached plan has been updated to include the new dates for validation testing.  Please continue to follow this timeline to manage your positions and recruitment.

We will keep you posted as we move through the testing phase.  Detailed instructions will follow for information about user testing, the training schedule, how to sign up for training, and information about system go-live.
