What is an In-Band Adjustment?

An in-band salary adjustment is a non-competitive pay practice which allows agency management the flexibility to adjust individual salaries within their Pay Band based on a change in duties (higher level).

Other Requirements

  • The range of increases for individual in-band adjustments cannot exceed 10% within a fiscal year.
  • An employee’s base salary must not exceed the maximum of the assigned pay band.
  • Employees may receive more than one in-band adjustment or bonus within a fiscal year- but the combined in-band bonuses and in-band salary increases cannot exceed 10%.

Please see the eligibility section for information on length of employment and time performing the new duties.
